PTU: Winter Forest

This tutorial was written by me on December 2, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.  Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the gorgeous tube called Ice Princess by Spazzd Art.   Please do not use her artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase this very cute tube at Spazzd art here.  

PTU scrap kit: A berry Winters Night by Heathers's Devine Dezigns.  Thank you for creating this awesome kit.  You can purchase it here.  

Mask: WSL mask 117 by weescotslass creations.  You can download it here.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Copy and paste your tube.  Resize 30% and again by 50%.  Drop shadow.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Select Raster 1 and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom center.  You might need to move your tube so it looks like she is standing on the snow.

Open element 8, copy and close the original  Select the snow layer and paste.  Move up and to the Left slighly.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Select the snow layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the right.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 68, copy and close the original.  Select the top tree layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the right.  See  mine for placement.

Open element 3, copy and close the original.  Select the snowman layer and pate.  Move to the bottom right corner.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 40, copy and close the original.  Select the top branch layer and paste.  Image, free rotate 90 degrees to the right, all layers not checked.  Move to the bottom.  See mine for placement.

Open element 21, copy and close the original.  Select the top tree layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom left corner.  See mine for placement.

Open element 78, copy and close the original.  Select the snow berry layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the right so it shows between the snowman and tube.

Open element 58, copy and close the original.  Select the top tree layer and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom left between the tube and left snowman.

Open element 49, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the bottom.  Drop shadow.

OPen element 18, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom left.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move the duplicate layer to the top.

Open element 71, copy and close the original.  Select the rose layer and paste.  Apply your mask and merge group.

Add your name and copyright.  Save as png.

PTU Frosty Morning

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the fantastic artwork of Alex Prihodko.  
Please do not use this artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase this at PFD.

PTU scrap kit:  I am using Frosty Morning (TS) by Baby Cakes Scraps.  Thank you for creating this fantastic kit.  You can view it at her blog here or purchase it a her store here

Mask:  I am using WSL mask 117.  You can get it at Weescotlass Creations here.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and drop shadow.

Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 60%.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 15.  Open paper of choice.  I am using  paper 10, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Do not deselect.  Copy your tube and paste as a new layer.  Move so her face is showing in the center.  Standing on the tube layer hit delete.  Change the blend mode to overlay or a blend mode of choice.  Select none and drop shadow the frame.

Open element 15, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 90% and drop shadow.

Open element 81, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom left in front of your tubes leg.  Drop shadow.

Open element 68, copy and close the original.  Select raster1 and paste.  Resize 50% and move to the bottom so it looks like your tube is laying on it.  Duplicate and flip.  Move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.

Open element 74, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and again by 60%.  Move to the bottom left corner.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 51, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and again by 70%.  Move to the top center of the frame.

Open element 55, copy and close the original.  select the top leaf layer and paste.  Resize 30% and move to the bottom left.  See mine for placement.  Drop Shadow, duplicate and mirror.

Open element 57, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the left side.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 47, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom just right of the candle.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 48, copy and close the original.  Select the top flower layer (under the tube) and paste.  Resize 20% and move to the bottom center so it is peaking out from behind your tube.  Drop shadow.

Open element 19, copy and close the original.  Select the top flower layer and paste.  Resize 50% and mirror.  Move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.

Open paper of choice.  I am  using paper 9.  Copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 paste as a new layer.  Apply mask and merge group.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

PTU: Baby it's cold outside

Plug ins: Eyecandy 4000 Gradient glow.

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 4, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 70% all layers not checked.  Drop shadow.

Open element 1, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the left so it shows in the window.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open your tube, copy and close the original.  Select the window layer and paste.  Drop shadow.

Open element 4, copy and close the original.  Select the window layer and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the top left corner of the window frame.  Duplicate and mirror.  Merge down and move this layer under the window frame.

Open element 8, copy and close the original.  Select the window frame and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the upper right corner.

Open element 10, copy and close the original.  Select the window layer and paste.  Image, mirror, resize 30% and move to the bottom right corner.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 19, copy and close the original.  Select the window layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the left side of the window.  Drop shadow.

Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Select the candycane layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom in front of your candy cane.  Drop shadow.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 60% and using your deform tool, turn it so it is level.  Move to the bottom.

Open element 6, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom right of the frame.  See mine for placement.

Open your word art, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom.  Apply gradient glow.  Basic tab size 5, color tab click medium.

Add any other elements you like.

Hide raster 1 and merge visible.   Resize 90% all layers not checked.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 1, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply your mask and merge group. 

Add your name and copyright and save as PNG.

PTU: Purple Winter

Ok lets get started.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 66, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 80%.

Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 7, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move this layer under the frame and drop shadow the frame.

Copy your close up tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and move up slightly.  Drop shadow.

Open element 6, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Move to the right side.  Duplicate, flip and mirror.  Merge down the 2 snowflake layers.  Resize 90%.

Open element 11, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the bottom of your tube.  See mine for placement.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select your tube layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom of the frame.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to left bottom of the frame.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 8, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 60% and then image free rotate to the right 90 degrees, all layers not checked.  Move to the bottom center but slightly to the right.  see mine for  placement.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move this layer above the ribbon layer.

Open element 61, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and Image free rotate to the right 90 degrees.  move to the bottom right.  Duplicate and mirror.  see mine for placement.

Open element 53, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the top left corner of the frame.  See mine for placement.

Open element 24, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 40% and mirror.  Move this to the left side under the bow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 42, copy and close the original.  Resize 40% and free rotate to the right 35 degrees.  Move to the upper right side.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 38, copy and close the original.  Select the top rose layer and paste.  Resize 70%.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 36, copy and close the original.  Select the  top snow glitter layer and paste.  Resize 70%.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 9, copy and close the original.  Select raster 1 and paste.  Apply mask.  Merge group.  Duplicate and mirror.  Lower the opacity to about 80%.

Add your name and copyright.

Save as png.

PTU: Urban Chic Timeline

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 815x315 transparent image.

Open and copy paper of choice.  I am using paper 1, Back to the timeline, select all and add a new rasterlayer.  Edit and paste into selections.  Select none.

Open close up of choice.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and move to the right.  Drop shadow.

Open element 37, copy and close the orginal.  Select your paper layer and paste. Move up a bit.

Open element 33, copy and close the original.  Select the skyscrape layer and paste.  Move down so the bumper lines up with the bottom.  Drop shadow.

Open element 51, copy and close the original.  select the car layer and paste.

Open element 43, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move to the top left.  See mine for placement.

Open element 19, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Resize 60% and using your deform tool turn the heart to the right.  Move to the upper right corner.  See mine for placement.

Select your paper layer,  Select all, edit, crop to selection.

Merge visible.

Shift + D to duplicate the banner.  Minimize for now.  

Back to the original banner.

Select all, add a new raster layer, selections, modify, select selections to border.  Width 6, both sides checked. Flood fill with color of choice.  Ajust, add/remove noise.  Add noise 100% monochrome checked. gaussian selected.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

Maximize the dupliate banner.

Resize 70% all layers checked.

Select your crop tool and crop to a wideth and hight of 180.

Select all, add a new raster layer, selections, modify, select selections to border.  Width 4, both sides checked. Flood fill with color of choice.  Ajust, add/remove noise.  Add noise 100% monochrome checked. gaussian selected.

Add your name and copyright.  Save as png.

PTU: Meet in Autumn Timeline Set

Supplies needed

Mask:  None

This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 815 x 315 transparent image.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 5, copy and close the original.  Add a new raster layer.  Select all, edit and paste into selections. Select none.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move to the far left, Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 3, copy and close the original.  Paste as new layer.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Copy your main tube and paste.  Selections, invert.  Using your eraser tool, erase the wings and bottom portion of your tube.  Select none.  Drop shadow the frame.

Open element 10, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move to the far right bottom corner, drop shadow,  duplicate and move slightly to the right and down a bit.  See mine for placement

Open element 27, Image flip.  Move to the bottom left of the frame.  Duplicate and mirror.   Erase the part of the ribbon that overlaps the bottom bow. Merge down.

Open element 29, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 90% all layers not checked.  Move to the upper right side add a gradient glow, basic tab, set the side to 5, color tab, click medium and change the color to #e4cab8.

Open element 9, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40% and drop shadow.  Move to the right side of the frame so it just covers the top of the ribbon.  Duplicate, mirror and move to the bottom left side between the frame and candles. 

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Select the top candle layer and paste.  Move to the bottom right, duplicate and mirror.

Add any other elements you would like.

Merge visable.

Shift + D to duplicate your banner and minimize for now.  We will use this for the avatar later.

Back to the banner, Select all, add a new raster layer.   Selections, modify, select selections to border size 6, both sides, anti-alias checked.  Flood fill with #f7d7c5,  Selections, modify, contract by 3 and fill with #952f23, adjust, add remove noise, add noise, Gausian checked, Noise 100, monochrome checked.  Select none.  Drop shadow the frame.  Repeat drop shadow but change the V/H to -2.

Add your name and copyright.  Remember to follow the TOU for the artist and facebook.

Save as png.

Maximize your duplicate.  Image resize 70%.  Select your crop tool and crop to width and height set to 180.  Move the crop box until you find a spot you like and hit enter on your keyboard.

Back to the banner, Select all, add a new raster layer.   Selections, modify, select selections to border size 4, both sides, anti-alias checked.  Flood fill with #f7d7c5,  Selections, modify, contract by 2 and fill with #952f23, adjust, add remove noise, add noise, Gausian checked, Noise 100, monochrome checked.  Select none.  Drop shadow the frame.  Repeat drop shadow but change the V/H to -2.

Add your name and copyright.  Save as png.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom of the frame.

Open element 47, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 80%.  Image, free rotate to the left 20 degrees, all layers not checked.  move to the bottom left corner of the frame.  See mine for placement.

open element 28, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom right corner.  Drop shadow.

Open element 26, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom left so it is peaking out from the headstone.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 58, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom so it is sticking out under the skulls and brush.  See mine for placement.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select the tube layer and paste.  Resize 70%, mirror and move to the bottom right under the skulls.

Open element 68, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer  and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the top right side.  Duplicate and flip horizontal.  Duplicate again and move to the top.  See mine for placement.  **Note***if you are using a different version of psp you may have to move the flip copy back over to the right side***

Open element 43, copy and close the original.  Select the mask layer and paste.  Resize 90% and move slightly to the right.

Open element 73, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Move to the bottom right corner.  See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 25, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom center.  See mine for placement.

Open element 46, copy and close the original.  select the tree layer and paste.  Move over slightly to the right.  See mine for placement.

Open element 57, copy and close the original.  Select the tree layer and paste.  Move to the bottom right corner under the black rose.  Duplicate and mirror.  see mine for placement.

Hide the mask layer and tree layers.  Merge visible.  Resize the merged layer by 90%.  Unhide the mask and tree layers.  Move the merged layer down a bit.

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

PTU: Spooky Xmas


This tutorial was written by me on October 28, 2013 and are the result of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed

I am using PSP X4 but this tutorial should work with any version.

PTU Tube:  I am using the gorgeous artwork of Spazzd Art.   Please do not use her artwork without a  proper license.  You can purchase this beautiful tube at Spazzdart here.  

PTU scrap kit:  I am using a gorgeous kit called Franky which is the matching kit to Spazzd art's Franky Tube. This kit was created by Sassi Designs.  You can purchase this at Spazzdart here.

Mask:  WSL_Mask_302.  You can get it from Weescotslass Creations here

My word art here.  Right click and save as.


This tutorial was written using the supplies above.  If you are using a different tube or scrap kit you may need to make adjustments.  I am using a drop shadow of V/H 2 Opacity 50, blur 5, color black through out the tutorial unless otherwise state.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

I am going to be working from the mask up.

Open paper of choice, I am using paper 2, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and apply mask.  Merge group.

Open element 91, copy and close the original.  Resize 60%. Move it up a bit.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow V/H 2, Opacity 50, Blur 5, color #811326.  Repeat Drop shadow but change the V/H to -2.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select the house layer and paste.  Resize 40% and move to the far right.  The branches should be on the blue part of the mask.  See mine for placement.

Open element 99, copy and close the original. Paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and move to the far right just over the tree.  See mine for placement.

Open element 89, copy and close the original. Paste as a new layer and resize 40% and move to the far left so it covers the bottom of the lamp.  See mine for placement.

Open element 73, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60% and move to the bottom.  It should be covering one part of the limo's headlight.  See mine for placement

Open element 100, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and move to the far left so it covers part of the fence.  See mine for placement.

Open element 72, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 60%.  Move to the bottom and move to the right.  The end skull should be covering the bottom of the fence.

Open element 34, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 20% move to the bottom 1/2 way covering the xmas tree.

Open element 5, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 20% and move to the top of the trunks so it looks like it is laying on it.  Drop shadow.  Remember to change the color back to black.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20% and move to the center of the tag.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer and resize 40% and mirror.  Move to the bottom right just in front of the skull.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open my word art and paste as a new layer.  Move to the bottom covering the trunk and tube.  Drop shadow. 

Add your copyright and name.  Save as png.

Mask: None

Plug ins: None.

Open a new 600x250 transparent image.

Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, copy and close the original.  Add a new raster layer, Select all, edit, paste into selection.  Keep selected and add a new raster layer.  

Open wordart.  Copy and close the original.  Standing on your new raster layer, paste into selections.  Select none.

Open element 18, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move to the right so the left side of the curtain is in the middle.  Duplicate and mirror. 

Copy your tube, select the top layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move her down slightly.  Drop shadow.

Open element 16, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move down slightly.

Open element 24, copy and close the original.  Select the top curtain layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the far left side.  Duplicate and mirror.  See mine for placement.

Open element 17, copy and close the original.  Select the top curtain layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move to the bottom right.  See mine for placement.

Select your top layer, add a new raster layer.  Select all, Image, crop to selection.  Select all again.  Selections, modify, select selections to borders both sides, anti-alias checked border width 5.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 4, copy and close the original.  Edit, paste into selections.  Keep selected.  Adjust, add remove noise, Gaussian, monochrome checked 50%.  Drop shadow the frame and bring your tube to the top.

Duplicate your banner shift + D and minimize the duplicate for now.

Add your name and copyright to the original.

Save as png.

Maximize the duplicate banner.  Delete the frame layer.  Resize 80% all layers checked.  Select your crop tool and crop to a width and height of 150.  Move the crop box to a spot you like and hit enter on your keyboard.  Merge visible.  Add a new raster layer.  Select all, selections, modify, select selections to borders both sides, anti-alias checked border width 3.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 4, copy and close the original.  Edit, paste into selections.  Keep selected.  Adjust, add remove noise, Gaussian, monochrome checked 50%.

Add your name and copyright.  Save as png.

PTU: Breath of Autumn

Plug In: eyecandy 4000, gradient glow for the word art and name.

Open a new 600x600 transparent image.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Using your magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 1, copy and close the original.  Paste as a new layer.  Selections, invert and hit delete on your keyboard.  Select none.  Move the paper layer under the frame and drop shadow the frame.

Open element 21, copy and close the original.  Select the paper layer and paste.  Move to the left.  Using your eraser tool, erase any part that is sticking out from the frame.

Copy your tube, Select the top layer and paste.  Move down slightly and drop shadow.

Open element 26, copy and close the orginal.  Select the frame layer adn paste.  move to the left side of the frame.  See mine for placement.

Open element 29, copy and close the original.  Select the frame layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the right side of the frame.  Using the eraser tool, erase the bottom portion of the tree.

Open element 22, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 70% and move to the right so it looks like it is sitting on the tree.  Drop shadow.  See mine for placement.

Open element 28, copy and close the original.  Select the lamp layer and paste.  Resize 60% and move ot the upper left corner.  See mine for placement.  Drop shadow.

Open element 30, copy and close the original.  Select the old tree layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 7, copy and close the original.  Select the top leaf layer and paste.  Move to the left middle. See mine for placement.  Duplicate and mirror.

Open element 20, copy and close the original.  Select your tube layer and paste.  Resize 80% and move to the bottom right corner.  See mine for placement.  Duplciate and mirror.

Open Element 27, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Move to the bottom and apply eyecandy Gradient glow Basic tab.  Width set to 5, color tab, change to #703c0c.  Repeat gradient glow but change the color to #bbab82.

Open element 11, copy and close the original.  Select the top pumpkin layer and paste.  Move to the bottom center.

Select raster 1 and hide it.  Merge visable and resize 90% all layers not checked.  

Select raster 1 and open paper of choice.  I am using paper 2, paste as a new layer and apply mask.  Merge group.  Duplicate and merge down.

Add your name and copyright.
